Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timber, with masons and craftsmen, to build him a house.
[ref]

Thus David perceived that Jehovah had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom had been exalted on high for the sake of His people Israel.
[ref]

And David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David begot more sons and daughters.
[ref]

And these are the names of his sons whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
[ref]

Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
7
Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
[ref]

Now when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it and went out to face them.
[ref]

And the Philistines went and made a raid on the Valley of Rephaim.
[ref]

And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Have You delivered them into my hand? And Jehovah said to him, Go up, for I have delivered them into your hand.
[ref]

So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. And David said, God has broken through to my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

And when they left their gods there, David commanded, and they were burned with fire.
[ref]

The Philistines again made a raid on the valley.
[ref]
14
And David again inquired of God, and God said to him, You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the balsam trees.
[ref]
15
And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.
[ref]
16
So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer.
[ref]
17
And David's fame went out into all the lands, for Jehovah had put the dread of him upon all the nations.
[ref]
