Psalm chapter 17

Bible Version
Book
Chapter
1
i1 [A Prayer of David.] i0 par Hear a just cause, O Jehovah; give attention to my cry, listen to my prayer; for it is not from deceitful lips.
2
Let my sentence come forth from Your presence; let Your eyes behold with equity.
3
You have examined my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me, and found nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4
Concerning the works of men, by the Words of Your lips, I have kept from the paths of the destroyer.
5
My steps have been upheld in Your paths, so that my footsteps have not slipped.
6
I have called upon You, for You hear me, O Mighty God; extend Your ear to me, and hear my speech.
7
Set apart Your wonderful lovingkindness, O You who by Your right hand saves those who trust in You, from those who rise up against me.
8
Keep me as the pupil of the eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings,
9
from the face of the wicked who have devastated me; from the enemies of my soul who surround me.
10
They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouths they speak proudly.
11
They have encompassed us in our steps, they keep watch with their eyes, lying down on the ground,
12
like a lion that longs to tear, and like a young lion lurking in secret places.
13
Arise, O Jehovah, forestall him; bow him down; deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword,
14
from men by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure. They are satisfied with children, and leave an abundance to their infants.
15
As for me, I will behold Your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with the image of You.
