The news about him spread through the whole country of Syria, so that people brought to him all those who were sick, suffering from all kinds of diseases and disorders: people with demons, and epileptics, and paralytics---and Jesus healed them all.

When evening came, people brought to Jesus many who had demons in them. Jesus drove out the evil spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.

After the sun had set and evening had come, people brought to Jesus all the sick and those who had demons.

A few days later Jesus went back to Capernaum, and the news spread that he was at home.

when four men arrived, carrying a paralyzed man to Jesus.

Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a bed, and they tried to carry him into the house and put him in front of Jesus.

Because of the crowd, however, they could find no way to take him in. So they carried him up on the roof, made an opening in the tiles, and let him down on his bed into the middle of the group in front of Jesus.

As a result of what the apostles were doing, sick people were carried out into the streets and placed on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.

And crowds of people came in from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing those who were sick or who had evil spirits in them; and they were all healed.

Even handkerchiefs and aprons he had used were taken to the sick, and their diseases were driven away, and the evil spirits would go out of them.

When Jesus heard this, he was surprised and said to the people following him, "I tell you, I have never found anyone in Israel with faith like this.

Because of the crowd, however, they could not get the man to him. So they made a hole in the roof right above the place where Jesus was. When they had made an opening, they let the man down, lying on his mat.

Seeing how much faith they had, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "My son, your sins are forgiven."

When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, "Your sins are forgiven, my friend."

There was no need for anyone to tell him about them, because he himself knew what was in their hearts.

He sat there and listened to Paul's words. Paul saw that he believed and could be healed, so he looked straight at him

But someone will say, "One person has faith, another has actions." My answer is, "Show me how anyone can have faith without actions. I will show you my faith by my actions."

Jesus turned around and saw her, and said, "Courage, my daughter! Your faith has made you well." At that very moment the woman became well.

Jesus said to her, "My daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your trouble."

Then he asked them, "Young men, haven't you caught anything?" "Not a thing," they answered.

Happy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.

Happy is the one whom the LORD does not accuse of doing wrong and who is free from all deceit.

Go ahead---eat your food and be happy; drink your wine and be cheerful. It's all right with God.

"Comfort my people," says our God. "Comfort them!

Encourage the people of Jerusalem. Tell them they have suffered long enough and their sins are now forgiven. I have punished them in full for all their sins."

I have swept your sins away like a cloud. Come back to me; I am the one who saves you."

The new covenant that I will make with the people of Israel will be this: I will put my law within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

None of them will have to teach a neighbor to know the LORD, because all will know me, from the least to the greatest. I will forgive their sins and I will no longer remember their wrongs. I, the LORD, have spoken."

When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, "Your sins are forgiven, my friend."

I tell you, then, the great love she has shown proves that her many sins have been forgiven. But whoever has been forgiven little shows only a little love."

The others sitting at the table began to say to themselves, "Who is this, who even forgives sins?"

All of you, my fellow Israelites, are to know for sure that it is through Jesus that the message about forgiveness of sins is preached to you; you are to know that everyone who believes in him is set free from all the sins from which the Law of Moses could not set you free.

This is what David meant when he spoke of the happiness of the person whom God accepts as righteous, apart from anything that person does:

Happy is the person whose sins the Lord will not keep account of !"

But that is not all; we rejoice because of what God has done through our Lord Jesus Christ, who has now made us God's friends.

by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.
