A fool does not care whether he understands a thing or not; all he wants to do is show how smart he is.

The most stupid fool is better off than those who think they are wise when they are not.

instead of worshiping the immortal God, they worship images made to look like mortals or birds or animals or reptiles.

They exchange the truth about God for a lie; they worship and serve what God has created instead of the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever! Amen.

In the same way the men give up natural sexual relations with women and burn with passion for each other. Men do shameful things with each other, and as a result they bring upon themselves the punishment they deserve for their wrongdoing.

while God's people, who were seeking a law that would put them right with God, did not find it.

And why not? Because they did not depend on faith but on what they did. And so they stumbled over the "stumbling stone"

You should not fool yourself. If any of you think that you are wise by this world's standards, you should become a fool, in order to be really wise.

For what this world considers to be wisdom is nonsense in God's sight. As the scripture says, "God traps the wise in their cleverness";

Those who think they know something really don't know as they ought to know.

First of all, you must understand that in the last days some people will appear whose lives are controlled by their own lusts. They will make fun of you

To those with insight, it is all clear; to the well-informed, it is all plain.

An intelligent person aims at wise action, but a fool starts off in many directions.

Open my eyes, so that I may see the wonderful truths in your law.

Your commandment is with me all the time and makes me wiser than my enemies.

Jesus answered, "The knowledge about the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

For the person who has something will be given more, so that he will have more than enough; but the person who has nothing will have taken away from him even the little he has.

But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.
