He said, "I was born with nothing, and I will die with nothing. The LORD gave, and now he has taken away. May his name be praised!"

because wealth is not permanent. Not even nations last forever.

We leave this world just as we entered it---with nothing. In spite of all our work there is nothing we can take with us.

It isn't right! We go just as we came. We labor, trying to catch the wind, and what do we get?

he cannot take it with him when he dies; his wealth will not go with him to the grave.

But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night you will have to give up your life; then who will get all these things you have kept for yourself ? ' "

And Jesus concluded, "This is how it is with those who pile up riches for themselves but are not rich in God's sight."

The poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the feast in heaven. The rich man died and was buried,

and in Hades, where he was in great pain, he looked up and saw Abraham, far away, with Lazarus at his side.
