After these things had happened, Paul made up his mind to travel through Macedonia and Achaia and go on to Jerusalem. "After I go there," he said, "I must also see Rome."

He came to us, took Paul's belt, tied up his own feet and hands with it, and said, "This is what the Holy Spirit says: The owner of this belt will be tied up in this way by the Jews in Jerusalem, and they will hand him over to the Gentiles."

But he answered, "What are you doing, crying like this and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be tied up in Jerusalem but even to die there for the sake of the Lord Jesus."

As the time drew near when Jesus would be taken up to heaven, he made up his mind and set out on his way to Jerusalem.

Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward and asked them, "Who is it you are looking for?"

You don't even know what your life tomorrow will be! You are like a puff of smoke, which appears for a moment and then disappears.

I know that I shall soon put off this mortal body, as our Lord Jesus Christ plainly told me.
