After he said this, Jesus spat on the ground and made some mud with the spittle; he rubbed the mud on the man's eyes

Since the beginning of the world nobody has ever heard of anyone giving sight to a person born blind.

The LORD said to him, "Who gives man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or dumb? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? It is I, the LORD.

and the magicians said to the king, "God has done this!" But the king was stubborn and, just as the LORD had said, the king would not listen to Moses and Aaron.

God made our ears---can't he hear? He made our eyes---can't he see?

and gives sight to the blind. He lifts those who have fallen; he loves his righteous people.

The LORD has given us eyes to see with and ears to listen with.

The blind will be able to see, and the deaf will hear.

The lame will leap and dance, and those who cannot speak will shout for joy. Streams of water will flow through the desert;

the blind can see, the lame can walk, those who suffer from dreaded skin diseases are made clean, the deaf hear, the dead are brought back to life, and the Good News is preached to the poor.
