When Simon Peter saw what had happened, he fell on his knees before Jesus and said, "Go away from me, Lord! I am a sinful man!"

Abram bowed down with his face touching the ground, and God said,

They went into the house, and when they saw the child with his mother Mary, they knelt down and worshiped him. They brought out their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, and presented them to him.

The woman realized what had happened to her, so she came, trembling with fear, knelt at his feet, and told him the whole truth.

so that all will honor the Son in the same way as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

As Peter was about to go in, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and bowed down before him.

But Peter made him rise. "Stand up," he said, "I myself am only a man."

the twenty-four elders fall down before the one who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever. They throw their crowns down in front of the throne and say,

The four living creatures answered, "Amen!" And the elders fell down and worshiped.

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. They said, "Amen! Praise God!"

Then there came from the throne the sound of a voice, saying, "Praise our God, all his servants and all people, both great and small, who have reverence for him!"

I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "Don't do it! I am a servant together with you and with other believers, all those who hold to the truth that Jesus revealed. Worship God!" For the truth that Jesus revealed is what inspires the prophets.

He sent messengers ahead of him, who went into a village in Samaria to get everything ready for him.

When the disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?"

Then Jesus and his disciples went on to another village.

In the same way a Levite also came there, went over and looked at the man, and then walked on by on the other side.

He went over to him, poured oil and wine on his wounds and bandaged them; then he put the man on his own animal and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.

The woman answered, "You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan---so how can you ask me for a drink?" (Jews will not use the same cups and bowls that Samaritans use.)

Jesus said to her, "Believe me, woman, the time will come when people will not worship the Father either on this mountain or in Jerusalem.

You Samaritans do not really know whom you worship; but we Jews know whom we worship, because it is from the Jews that salvation comes.

Many of the Samaritans in that town believed in Jesus because the woman had said, "He told me everything I have ever done."

Many more believed because of his message,

They asked Jesus, "Were we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon in you?"

But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Philip went to the principal city in Samaria and preached the Messiah to the people there.

Evil spirits came out from many people with a loud cry, and many paralyzed and lame people were healed.

A man named Simon lived there, who for some time had astounded the Samaritans with his magic. He claimed that he was someone great,

They paid this attention to him because for such a long time he had astonished them with his magic.

Simon himself also believed; and after being baptized, he stayed close to Philip and was astounded when he saw the great wonders and miracles that were being performed.

When they arrived, they prayed for the believers that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

and said, "Give this power to me too, so that anyone I place my hands on will receive the Holy Spirit."

You have no part or share in our work, because your heart is not right in God's sight.

For I see that you are full of bitter envy and are a prisoner of sin."

After they had given their testimony and proclaimed the Lord's message, Peter and John went back to Jerusalem. On their way they preached the Good News in many villages of Samaria.
