He helped me out of danger; he saved me because he was pleased with me.

If the LORD is pleased with us, he will take us there and give us that rich and fertile land.

I said, "Has King Jehoiachin become like a broken jar that is thrown away and that no one wants? Is that why he and his children have been taken into exile to a land they know nothing about?"

I will take pleasure in doing good things for them, and I will establish them permanently in this land.

So Samuel told him everything; he did not keep anything back. Eli said, "He is the LORD; he will do whatever seems best to him."

Then Job got up and tore his clothes in grief. He shaved his head and threw himself face downward on the ground.

He said, "I was born with nothing, and I will die with nothing. The LORD gave, and now he has taken away. May his name be praised!"

I will keep quiet, I will not say a word, for you are the one who made me suffer like this.
