Condemn and punish them, O God; may their own plots cause their ruin. Drive them out of your presence because of their many sins and their rebellion against you.

I do not keep company with worthless people; I have nothing to do with hypocrites.

O God, how I wish you would kill the wicked! How I wish violent people would leave me alone!

Suppose they say, "Come on; let's find someone to kill! Let's attack some innocent people for the fun of it!

My child, don't go with people like that. Stay away from them.

They can't wait to do something bad. They're always ready to kill.

Honest people will treat you fairly; the wicked only want to deceive you.

" 'God's curse on anyone who secretly commits murder.' "And all the people will answer, 'Amen!'

Do not destroy me with the sinners; spare me from the fate of murderers---

Protect me from the plots of the wicked, from mobs of evil people.

I did not spend my time with other people, laughing and having a good time. In obedience to your orders I stayed by myself and was filled with anger.

Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God.

Do not try to work together as equals with unbelievers, for it cannot be done. How can right and wrong be partners? How can light and darkness live together?

Three days later, when the men were still sore from their circumcision, two of Jacob's sons, Simeon and Levi, the brothers of Dinah, took their swords, went into the city without arousing suspicion, and killed all the men,

including Hamor and his son Shechem. Then they took Dinah from Shechem's house and left.
