Then Jacob made a vow to the LORD: "If you will be with me and protect me on the journey I am making and give me food and clothing,

and if I return safely to my father's home, then you will be my God.

That night the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid; I am with you. I will bless you and give you many descendants because of my promise to my servant Abraham."

Then the LORD said to him, "Go back to the land of your fathers and to your relatives. I will be with you."

Then Jacob prayed, "God of my grandfather Abraham and God of my father Isaac, hear me! You told me, LORD, to go back to my land and to my relatives, and you would make everything go well for me.

The LORD was with Joseph and made him successful. He lived in the house of his Egyptian master,

But the LORD was with Joseph and blessed him, so that the jailer was pleased with him.

I will go with you to Egypt, and I will bring your descendants back to this land. Joseph will be with you when you die."

God answered, "I will be with you, and when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will worship me on this mountain. That will be the proof that I have sent you."

Make your plans! But they will never succeed. Talk all you want to! But it is all useless, because God is with us.

In view of all this, what can we say? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Certainly not God, who did not even keep back his own Son, but offered him for us all! He gave us his Son---will he not also freely give us all things?

Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is valuable in every way, because it promises life both for the present and for the future.

May the angel, who has rescued me from all harm, bless them! May my name and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac live on through these boys! May they have many children, many descendants!"

The LORD will guard you; he is by your side to protect you.

The LORD will protect you from all danger; he will keep you safe.

Jacob came with all his people to Luz, which is now known as Bethel, in the land of Canaan.

He built an altar there and named the place for the God of Bethel, because God had revealed himself to him there when he was running away from his brother.

Be determined and confident. Do not be afraid of them. Your God, the LORD himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you."

Joshua, no one will be able to defeat you as long as you live. I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will always be with you; I will never abandon you.

May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us;

I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them away from me.

What my Father has given me is greater than everything, and no one can snatch them away from the Father's care.

Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never leave you; I will never abandon you."

Let us be bold, then, and say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?"

From Jude, servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James--- To those who have been called by God, who live in the love of God the Father and the protection of Jesus Christ:

God is not like people, who lie; He is not a human who changes his mind. Whatever he promises, he does; He speaks, and it is done.
