But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew them all.

There was no need for anyone to tell him about them, because he himself knew what was in their hearts.

There is nothing that can be hid from God; everything in all creation is exposed and lies open before his eyes. And it is to him that we must all give an account of ourselves.

so Jesus' brothers said to him, "Leave this place and go to Judea, so that your followers will see the things that you are doing.

People don't hide what they are doing if they want to be well known. Since you are doing these things, let the whole world know about you!"

The next day the large crowd that had come to the Passover Festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, "Praise God! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless the King of Israel!"

The people who were in front and those who followed behind began to shout, "Praise God! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord!

"God bless the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory to God!"

"I am not looking for human praise.

Jesus said, "My kingdom does not belong to this world; if my kingdom belonged to this world, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish authorities. No, my kingdom does not belong here!"

Then Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people away.

After saying good-bye to the people, he went away to a hill to pray.

He saw that his disciples were straining at the oars, because they were rowing against the wind; so sometime between three and six o'clock in the morning, he came to them, walking on the water. He was going to pass them by,

They were all terrified when they saw him. Jesus spoke to them at once, "Courage!" he said. "It is I. Don't be afraid!"

because they had not understood the real meaning of the feeding of the five thousand; their minds could not grasp it.
