and never be able to understand what God is doing. However hard you try, you will never find out. The wise may claim to know, but they don't.

God made everything, and you can no more understand what he does than you understand how new life begins in the womb of a pregnant woman.

Do not be surprised because I tell you that you must all be born again.

The wind blows wherever it wishes; you hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. It is like that with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

And what you plant is a bare seed, perhaps a grain of wheat or some other grain, not the full-bodied plant that will later grow up.

God provides that seed with the body he wishes; he gives each seed its own proper body.

Our friends, we must thank God at all times for you. It is right for us to do so, because your faith is growing so much and the love each of you has for the others is becoming greater.

But continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory, now and forever! Amen.
