Job, have you confessed your sins to God and promised not to sin again?

Have you asked God to show you your faults, and have you agreed to stop doing evil?

The priests, serving the LORD between the altar and the entrance of the Temple, must weep and pray: "Have pity on your people, LORD. Do not let other nations despise us and mock us by saying, 'Where is your God?' "

This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored;

Give us today the food we need.

Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.'

Jesus said to them, "When you pray, say this: 'Father: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come.

Forgive us our sins, for we forgive everyone who does us wrong. And do not bring us to hard testing.' "

But the tax collector stood at a distance and would not even raise his face to heaven, but beat on his breast and said, 'God, have pity on me, a sinner!'

"I have sinned against the LORD," David said. Nathan replied, "The LORD forgives you; you will not die.

But after David had taken the census, his conscience began to hurt, and he said to the LORD, "I have committed a terrible sin in doing this! Please forgive me. I have acted foolishly."

Can't you ever forgive my sin? Can't you pardon the wrong I do? Soon I will be in my grave, and I'll be gone when you look for me.

Wash away all my evil and make me clean from my sin!

I have sinned against you---only against you--- and done what you consider evil. So you are right in judging me; you are justified in condemning me.

Sincerity and truth are what you require; fill my mind with your wisdom.

Let me hear the sounds of joy and gladness; and though you have crushed me and broken me, I will be happy once again.

Create a pure heart in me, O God, and put a new and loyal spirit in me.

He touched my lips with the burning coal and said, "This has touched your lips, and now your guilt is gone, and your sins are forgiven."

I will sprinkle clean water on you and make you clean from all your idols and everything else that has defiled you.

I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart.

You will be merciful to us once again. You will trample our sins underfoot and send them to the bottom of the sea!

The angel said to his heavenly attendants, "Take away the filthy clothes this man is wearing." Then he said to Joshua, "I have taken away your sin and will give you new clothes to wear."

The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "There is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

I will make this covenant with them when I take away their sins."

He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.

For the blood of bulls and goats can never take away sins.

But if we live in the light---just as he is in the light---then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin.

You know that Christ appeared in order to take away sins, and that there is no sin in him.

As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

'Father,' the son said, 'I have sinned against God and against you. I am no longer fit to be called your son.'

Then go and get the prize calf and kill it, and let us celebrate with a feast!

Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son!

For by the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. How great is the grace of God,

He did this to demonstrate for all time to come the extraordinary greatness of his grace in the love he showed us in Christ Jesus.

For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it.

He saved us and called us to be his own people, not because of what we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace. He gave us this grace by means of Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

I will praise God with a song; I will proclaim his greatness by giving him thanks.

This will please the LORD more than offering him cattle, more than sacrificing a full-grown bull.

Let us, then, always offer praise to God as our sacrifice through Jesus, which is the offering presented by lips that confess him as Lord.

Come as living stones, and let yourselves be used in building the spiritual temple, where you will serve as holy priests to offer spiritual and acceptable sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ.

But you are the chosen race, the King's priests, the holy nation, God's own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light.
