No one helped God spread out the heavens or trample the sea monster's back.

God hung the stars in the sky---the Dipper, Orion, the Pleiades, and the stars of the south.

Then God commanded, "Let there be a dome to divide the water and to keep it in two separate places"---and it was done. So God made a dome, and it separated the water under it from the water above it.

He named the dome "Sky." Evening passed and morning came---that was the second day.

you cover yourself with light. You have spread out the heavens like a tent

Praise him, highest heavens, and the waters above the sky.

by his command they were fixed in their places forever, and they cannot disobey.

I was there when he set the sky in place, when he stretched the horizon across the ocean,

Can anyone measure the ocean by handfuls or measure the sky with his hands? Can anyone hold the soil of the earth in a cup or weigh the mountains and hills on scales?

It was made by the one who sits on his throne above the earth and beyond the sky; the people below look as tiny as ants. He stretched out the sky like a curtain, like a tent in which to live.

"I am the LORD, your savior; I am the one who created you. I am the LORD, the Creator of all things. I alone stretched out the heavens; when I made the earth, no one helped me.

He made the bronze basin and its bronze base out of the mirrors belonging to the women who served at the entrance of the Tent of the LORD's presence.
