Month after month I have nothing to live for; night after night brings me grief.

It is wise to fear the LORD. He calls to the city, "Listen, you people who assemble in the city!

so that none of you should turn back because of these persecutions. You yourselves know that such persecutions are part of God's will for us.

God did not choose us to suffer his anger, but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

And another scripture says, "This is the stone that will make people stumble, the rock that will make them fall." They stumbled because they did not believe in the word; such was God's will for them.

You walked through the waves; you crossed the deep sea, but your footprints could not be seen.

Clouds and darkness surround him; he rules with righteousness and justice.

Israel, why then do you complain that the LORD doesn't know your troubles or care if you suffer injustice?

Don't you know? Haven't you heard? The LORD is the everlasting God; he created all the world. He never grows tired or weary. No one understands his thoughts.

How great are God's riches! How deep are his wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain his decisions? Who can understand his ways?
