Nathan answered, "Do whatever you have in mind, because the LORD is with you."

"Go and tell my servant David that I say to him, 'You are not the one to build a temple for me to live in.

"Neither," the man answered. "I am here as the commander of the LORD's army." Joshua threw himself on the ground in worship and said, "I am your servant, sir. What do you want me to do?"

And the commander of the LORD's army told him, "Take your sandals off; you are standing on holy ground." And Joshua did as he was told.

"Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the tribe of Benjamin; anoint him as ruler of my people Israel, and he will rescue them from the Philistines. I have seen the suffering of my people and have heard their cries for help."

Then Samuel took a jar of olive oil and poured it on Saul's head, kissed him, and said, "The LORD anoints you as ruler of his people Israel. You will rule his people and protect them from all their enemies. And this is the proof to you that the LORD has chosen you to be the ruler of his people:

In the past, even when Saul was still our king, you led the people of Israel in battle, and the LORD promised you that you would lead his people and be their ruler."

God himself is our leader and his priests are here with trumpets, ready to blow them and call us to battle against you. People of Israel, don't fight against the LORD, the God of your ancestors! You can't win!"

It was only right that God, who creates and preserves all things, should make Jesus perfect through suffering, in order to bring many children to share his glory. For Jesus is the one who leads them to salvation.

In the eighth year that Josiah was king, while he was still very young, he began to worship the God of his ancestor King David. Four years later he began to destroy the pagan places of worship, the symbols of the goddess Asherah, and all the other idols.

to go back to Hezekiah and say to him, "I, the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will let you live fifteen years longer.

"Listen now, my people, and come to me; come to me, and you will have life! I will make a lasting covenant with you and give you the blessings I promised to David.

'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' He is the God of the living, not of the dead."

Then Isaiah sent a message telling King Hezekiah that in answer to the king's prayer

because you answer prayers. People everywhere will come to you

But God has indeed heard me; he has listened to my prayer.

I praise God, because he did not reject my prayer or keep back his constant love from me.

But the angel said to him, "Don't be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son. You are to name him John.

Hear my prayer, LORD, and listen to my cry; come to my aid when I weep. Like all my ancestors I am only your guest for a little while.

You know how troubled I am; you have kept a record of my tears. Aren't they listed in your book?

Let those who wept as they planted their crops, gather the harvest with joy!

because the Lamb, who is in the center of the throne, will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Then Isaiah told the king's attendants to put on his boil a paste made of figs, and he would get well.

He said, "If you will obey me completely by doing what I consider right and by keeping my commands, I will not punish you with any of the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians. I am the LORD, the one who heals you."

" 'I, and I alone, am God; no other god is real. I kill and I give life, I wound and I heal, and no one can oppose what I do.

God corrects us by sending sickness and filling our bodies with pain.

Their bodies waste away to nothing; you can see all their bones;

Perhaps an angel may come to their aid--- one of God's thousands of angels, who remind us of our duty.

Their bodies will grow young and strong again;

He heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds.

Are any among you sick? They should send for the church elders, who will pray for them and rub olive oil on them in the name of the Lord.

This prayer made in faith will heal the sick; the Lord will restore them to health, and the sins they have committed will be forgiven.

King Hezekiah asked, "What is the sign to prove that the LORD will heal me and that three days later I will be able to go to the Temple?"

I will bring burnt offerings to your house; I will offer you what I promised.

I will offer sheep to be burned on the altar; I will sacrifice bulls and goats, and the smoke will go up to the sky.

What can I offer the LORD for all his goodness to me?

In the assembly of all his people I will give him what I have promised.

I will not die; instead, I will live and proclaim what the LORD has done.

Open to me the gates of the Temple; I will go in and give thanks to the LORD!

Then King Hezekiah asked, "What is the sign to prove that I will be able to go to the Temple?"

Afterward, Jesus found him in the Temple and said, "Listen, you are well now; so stop sinning or something worse may happen to you."
