When that happens, I will become angry with them; I will abandon them, and they will be destroyed. Many terrible disasters will come upon them, and then they will realize that these things are happening to them because I, their God, am no longer with them.

And I will refuse to help them then, because they have done evil and worshiped other gods.

Why do you avoid me? Why do you treat me like an enemy?

If God decided to do nothing at all, no one could criticize him. If he hid his face, we would be helpless.

No one turns to you in prayer; no one goes to you for help. You have hidden yourself from us and have abandoned us because of our sins.

Early the next morning the people went out to the wild country near Tekoa. As they were starting out, Jehoshaphat addressed them with these words: "People of Judah and Jerusalem! They are always rebelling against God, always lying, always refusing to listen to the LORD's teachings.

No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him.
