Do all your work in love.

I write this to you, not because I want to make you feel ashamed, but to instruct you as my own dear children.

For even if you have ten thousand guardians in your Christian life, you have only one father. For in your life in union with Christ Jesus I have become your father by bringing the Good News to you.

Do I say this because I don't love you? God knows I love you!

I will be glad to spend all I have, and myself as well, in order to help you. Will you love me less because I love you so much?

God is my witness that I tell the truth when I say that my deep feeling for you all comes from the heart of Christ Jesus himself.

I rebuke and punish all whom I love. Be in earnest, then, and turn from your sins.

When you give thanks to God in spirit only, how can ordinary people taking part in the meeting say "Amen" to your prayer of thanksgiving? They have no way of knowing what you are saying.

Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.'
