The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering these things about Jesus, so they and the chief priests sent some guards to arrest him.

Some of the Pharisees said, "The man who did this cannot be from God, for he does not obey the Sabbath law." Others, however, said, "How could a man who is a sinner perform such miracles as these?" And there was a division among them.

Do everything without complaining or arguing,

Some of the people of Jerusalem said, "Isn't this the man the authorities are trying to kill?

But when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from. And we all know where this man comes from."

Some of the people in the crowd heard him say this and said, "This man is really the Prophet!"

The scripture says that the Messiah will be a descendant of King David and will be born in Bethlehem, the town where David lived."

Seeing this miracle that Jesus had performed, the people there said, "Surely this is the Prophet who was to come into the world!"

Again there was a division among the people because of these words.

But others were saying, "A man with a demon could not talk like this! How could a demon give sight to blind people?"

So a pupil should be satisfied to become like his teacher, and a slave like his master. If the head of the family is called Beelzebul, the members of the family will be called even worse names!

Jesus went to the territory near the town of Caesarea Philippi, where he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

"What about you?" he asked them. "Who do you say I am?"

so they tried to arrest him. But they were afraid of the crowds, who considered Jesus to be a prophet.

They all were filled with fear and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us!" they said; "God has come to save his people!"

A good person brings good out of the treasure of good things in his heart; a bad person brings bad out of his treasure of bad things. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

"Why do you call me good?" Jesus asked him. "No one is good except God alone.

The army officer saw what had happened, and he praised God, saying, "Certainly he was a good man!"

There was a man named Joseph from Arimathea, a town in Judea. He was a good and honorable man, who was waiting for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Although he was a member of the Council, he had not agreed with their decision and action.

Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and many people were brought to the Lord.

It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may even be that someone might dare to die for a good person.

"Did he fool you, too?" the Pharisees asked them.

"Well," they answered, "are you also from Galilee? Study the Scriptures and you will learn that no prophet ever comes from Galilee."

and said, "Sir, we remember that while that liar was still alive he said, 'I will be raised to life three days later.'
