But you teach that if people have something they could use to help their father or mother, but say, 'This is Corban' (which means, it belongs to God),

In this way the teaching you pass on to others cancels out the word of God. And there are many other things like this that you do."

As Jesus sat near the Temple treasury, he watched the people as they dropped in their money. Many rich men dropped in a lot of money;

He called his disciples together and said to them, "I tell you that this poor widow put more in the offering box than all the others.

Everything made of silver, gold, bronze, or iron is set apart for the LORD. It is to be put in the LORD's treasury."

Jesus said all this as he taught in the Temple, in the room where the offering boxes were placed. And no one arrested him, because his hour had not come.
