"Whoever welcomes you welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

Whoever welcomes God's messenger because he is God's messenger, will share in his reward. And whoever welcomes a good man because he is good, will share in his reward.

And whoever welcomes in my name one such child as this, welcomes me.

If you come to a town where people do not welcome you or will not listen to you, leave it and shake the dust off your feet. That will be a warning to them!"

and said to them, "Whoever welcomes this child in my name, welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me, also welcomes the one who sent me. For the one who is least among you all is the greatest."

But whenever you go into a town and are not welcomed, go out in the streets and say,

'Even the dust from your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. But remember that the Kingdom of God has come near you!'

I am telling you the truth: whoever receives anyone I send receives me also; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me."

So then, whoever rejects this teaching is not rejecting a human being, but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

Then I took off the sash I was wearing around my waist and shook it out. "This is how God will shake any of you who don't keep your promise," I said. "God will take away your houses and everything you own, and will leave you with nothing." Everyone who was present said, "Amen!" and praised the LORD. And the leaders kept their promise.

The apostles shook the dust off their feet in protest against them and went on to Iconium.

When they opposed him and said evil things about him, he protested by shaking the dust from his clothes and saying to them, "If you are lost, you yourselves must take the blame for it! I am not responsible. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

So I solemnly declare to you this very day: if any of you should be lost, I am not responsible.

For I have not held back from announcing to you the whole purpose of God.
