Jehu arrived in Jezreel. Jezebel, having heard what had happened, put on eye shadow, arranged her hair, and stood looking down at the street from a window in the palace.

As Jehu came through the gate, she called out, "You Zimri! You assassin! Why are you here?"

God is so wise and powerful; no one can stand up against him.

If so, stand up in your honor and pride; clothe yourself with majesty and glory.

Look at those who are proud; pour out your anger and humble them.

Pride leads to destruction, and arrogance to downfall.

No one is respected unless he is humble; arrogant people are on the way to ruin.

Now you arrogant leaders who rule here in Jerusalem over this people, listen to what the LORD is saying.
