"Is there a limit to my power?" the LORD answered. "You will soon see whether what I have said will happen or not!"

Now if you kill all your people, the nations who have heard of your fame will say

that you killed your people in the wilderness because you were not able to bring them into the land you promised to give them.

Wake up, Lord! Why are you asleep? Rouse yourself ! Don't reject us forever!

We fall crushed to the ground; we lie defeated in the dust.

The LORD says, "Do you think I sent my people away like a man who divorces his wife? Where, then, are the papers of divorce? Do you think I sold you into captivity like a man who sells his children as slaves? No, you went away captive because of your sins; you were sent away because of your crimes.

"Why did my people fail to respond when I went to them to save them? Why did they not answer when I called? Am I too weak to save them? I can dry up the sea with a command and turn rivers into a desert, so that the fish in them die for lack of water.

Wake up, LORD, and help us! Use your power and save us; use it as you did in ancient times. It was you that cut the sea monster Rahab to pieces.

Don't think that the LORD is too weak to save you or too deaf to hear your call for help!

I will live among the people of Israel, and I will be their God.

They will know that I am the LORD their God who brought them out of Egypt so that I could live among them. I am the LORD their God.

I will live among you in my sacred Tent, and I will never turn away from you.

I will be with you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

Keep your camp ritually clean, because the LORD your God is with you in your camp to protect you and to give you victory over your enemies. Do not do anything indecent that would cause the LORD to turn his back on you.

God is in that city, and it will never be destroyed; at early dawn he will come to its aid.

Let everyone who lives in Zion shout and sing! Israel's holy God is great, and he lives among his people."

The LORD has promised that he himself will be a wall of fire around the city to protect it and that he will live there in all his glory."

How can God's temple come to terms with pagan idols? For we are the temple of the living God! As God himself has said, "I will make my home with my people and live among them; I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: "Now God's home is with people! He will live with them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God.

You spoke to me, and I listened to every word. I belong to you, LORD God Almighty, and so your words filled my heart with joy and happiness.

You treat us as though you had never been our ruler, as though we had never been your people.

Listen to us, O God; look at us and see the trouble we are in and the suffering of the city that bears your name. We are praying to you because you are merciful, not because we have done right.

Lord, hear us. Lord, forgive us. Lord, listen to us, and act! In order that everyone will know that you are God, do not delay! This city and these people are yours."

The LORD has made a solemn promise, and he will not abandon you, for he has decided to make you his own people.

Don't hide yourself from me! Don't be angry with me; don't turn your servant away. You have been my help; don't leave me, don't abandon me, O God, my savior.

Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never leave you; I will never abandon you."
