From today on I will make people everywhere afraid of you. Everyone will tremble with fear at the mention of your name.'

Wherever you go in that land, the LORD your God will make the people fear you, as he has promised, and no one will be able to stop you.

and said to them, "I know that the LORD has given you this land. Everyone in the country is terrified of you.

But not even a dog will bark at the Israelites or their animals. Then you will know that I, the LORD, make a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites.' "

"He protects the lives of his faithful people, but the wicked disappear in darkness; a man does not triumph by his own strength.

but Jacob's descendants he chose for himself.

There is no other nation on earth like Israel, whom you rescued from slavery to make them your own people. The great and wonderful things you did for them have spread your fame throughout the world. You drove out other nations and their gods as your people advanced, the people whom you set free from Egypt to be your own.

Remember your people, whom you chose for yourself long ago, whom you brought out of slavery to be your own tribe. Remember Mount Zion, where once you lived.

Israel, the LORD who created you says, "Do not be afraid---I will save you. I have called you by name---you are mine.

For I am the LORD your God, the holy God of Israel, who saves you. I will give up Egypt to set you free; I will give up Ethiopia and Seba.

It was you also who dried up the sea and made a path through the water, so that those you were saving could cross.

I have set Israel's people free and have saved them from a mighty nation.

So keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock which the Holy Spirit has placed in your care. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he made his own through the blood of his Son.

He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.

But you are the chosen race, the King's priests, the holy nation, God's own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light.

False prophets appeared in the past among the people, and in the same way false teachers will appear among you. They will bring in destructive, untrue doctrines, and will deny the Master who redeemed them, and so they will bring upon themselves sudden destruction.
