But even then, when they are still in the land of their enemies, I will not completely abandon them or destroy them. That would put an end to my covenant with them, and I am the LORD their God.

Remember your promises and do not despise us; do not bring disgrace on Jerusalem, the place of your glorious throne. Do not break the covenant you made with us.

"I have made a covenant with the day and with the night, so that they always come at their proper times; and that covenant can never be broken.

God is not like people, who lie; He is not a human who changes his mind. Whatever he promises, he does; He speaks, and it is done.

"I am the LORD, and I do not change. And so you, the descendants of Jacob, are not yet completely lost.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

For God does not change his mind about whom he chooses and blesses.

Every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down from God, the Creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness by turning.
