and said, " LORD, I could never drink this! It would be like drinking the blood of these men who risked their lives!" So he refused to drink it. Those were the brave deeds of the three famous soldiers.

"I inherited this vineyard from my ancestors," Naboth replied. "The LORD forbid that I should let you have it!"

What shall we say, then? Should we continue to live in sin so that God's grace will increase?

Certainly not! We have died to sin---how then can we go on living in it?

If any Israelites or any foreigners living in the community eat meat with blood still in it, the LORD will turn against them and no longer consider them his people.

All those who work for me know that I have always welcomed strangers.

He rescues them from oppression and violence; their lives are precious to him.

Jesus said, "This is my blood which is poured out for many, my blood which seals God's covenant.

For my flesh is the real food; my blood is the real drink.

they risked their lives for me. I am grateful to them---not only I, but all the Gentile churches as well.

But the people of Zebulun and Naphtali risked their lives on the battlefield.

Remember that my father fought for you. He risked his life to save you from the Midianites.

And as for us---why would we run the risk of danger every hour?
