"Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the LORD your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name.

"Do not speak evil of God, and do not curse a leader of your people.

(SEE 9:27)

I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again.

When the people of Israel heard of Solomon's decision, they were all filled with deep respect for him, because they knew then that God had given him the wisdom to settle disputes fairly.

You know what to do; you must not let him die a natural death.

But Jacob said, "My son cannot go with you; his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. Something might happen to him on the way. I am an old man, and the sorrow you would cause me would kill me."

But if you do not keep your promise, I warn you that you will be sinning against the LORD. Make no mistake about it; you will be punished for your sin.
