And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,

saying, You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!

If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to be able to prevent God?

When they heard these things they kept silent; and they glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance unto life.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and influential women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their borders.

And when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to inflict injury and stone them,

Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to have died.

But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the baser sort from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and came upon the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, These who have turned the world upside down have come here, too;

But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the Word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds.

And when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat,

saying, This fellow persuades men to revere God contrary to the Law.

But when some were hardened and did not obey, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of a certain Tyrannus.

Now when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him,

(For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

Now as they were seeking to kill him, news came to the commander of the garrison that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

Then He said to me, Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.

And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live!

And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.

To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my afflictions on your behalf, which is your glory.

Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am the Mighty God, and there is no other.

He who believes and is immersed will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men that is required for us to be saved.

For everyone, whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And how shall they preach if they are not sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those preaching the gospel of peace, bringing glad tidings of good things.

and with all unrighteous deception among those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

who desires all men to be saved and to come to a full true knowledge of the truth.

But in the fourth generation they shall return here; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.

And I said, What is it? And he said, This is the ephah that goes forth. And he said, This is their appearance throughout the earth.

And he said, This is wickedness. And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah; and he threw the lead stone over its opening.

Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.

And I will show signs in the heavens and in the earth: blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Jehovah.

For, behold, the day is coming, burning like a fire pot; and all the proud and everyone that does wickedness shall be chaff. And the coming day will set them ablaze, says Jehovah of Hosts, which will not leave to them root or branch.

Behold, I am sending you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Jehovah.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

and do not think to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be unto this wicked generation.

They said to Him, He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will deliver to him the fruits in their seasons.

Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it.

And the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.

But when the king heard about it, he was angry. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

For then there will be great affliction, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be kept safe alive; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.

that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required from this generation,

from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the temple. Yes, I say to you, it shall be required from this generation.

saying, If you had known, even you, at least in this your day, the things that make for your peace. But now they are hidden from your eyes.

and tear you down, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.

For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

but if it bears thorns and briars, it is unfit and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned up.

but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour those who oppose.

Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled on the Son of God, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of Grace?

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your calamities that are coming upon you.

Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.

You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.
