If you indeed take your neighbor's garment as a pledge, you shall return it to him by the going down of the sun.

For that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What will he sleep in? And it will be that when he cries out to Me, I will give heed, for I am gracious.

They lodge the naked without clothing, with no covering against the cold.

They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and hug the rock for want of shelter.

When the ear heard, it blessed me, and when the eye saw, it bore witness to me;

The blessing of the dying man came upon me, and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

If I have withheld from the poor their desire, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

(when from my youth, as a father I have raised him, and from my mother's womb I guided her);

if his heart has not blessed me, and if he was not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

if he has not oppressed anyone, but has restored to the debtor his pledge; has plundered no one by robbery, but has given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with clothing;

if he has oppressed the poor and needy, plundered by robbery, not restored the pledge, has lifted his eyes to the idols, or committed abomination;

has not oppressed anyone, nor withheld a pledge, nor plundered by robbery, but has given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with clothing;

if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life, not committing iniquity, he shall live life; he shall not die.

And they lie down beside every altar on garments taken in pledge, and drink the wine of those being punished in the house of their God.

The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain;

The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day; and you know very well how many ways he ministered to me at Ephesus.

through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for your professed obedience to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,

And it shall be righteousness for us if we take heed to do all these commandments before Jehovah our God, as He has commanded us.

Beware that there not be a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, approaches; and your eye be evil against your needy brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to Jehovah against you, and it become sin unto you.

You shall lend to give to him, and your heart shall not tremble to give to him; because for this thing Jehovah your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.

And he believed in Jehovah, and He accounted it unto him for righteousness.

Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was restrained.

And it was accounted to him for righteousness from generation to generation forevermore.

He has dispersed abroad, he has given to the poor; his righteousness stands forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

Then shall your light break forth as the dawn, and your health shall spring forth speedily; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall bring up the rear.

Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; so that perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

For judgment will be without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Indeed, mercy rejoices over judgment.

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,

Thus also faith, if it does not have works, being alone, is dead.

You believe that God is One. You do well. Even the demons believe, and shudder.

Was not Abraham our father justified from works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. And he was called, Friend of God.
