that it not be, when I come again, that my God will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, sexual perversities, and licentiousness which they have practiced.

For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. And this also we pray, that you may be made complete.

Moreover I call God as witness against my soul, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth.

Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers of your joy; for by faith you stand.

But I determined this within myself, that I would not come again to you in sorrow.

And I wrote this very thing to you, that, when I came, I should not have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy, having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all.

But I beseech you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I figure on being bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

and being ready to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed;

so that I may not seem to frighten you by letters.

I have told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time, and now being absent I write to those who have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare;

Therefore I write these things being absent, that when present I should not use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for pulling down.

Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.

For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.

For indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, I have already judged him who has so done this deed, as though I were present.

deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like men?

For when one says, I am of Paul, and another, I of Apollos, are you not carnal?

Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up one over the other.

You are already full. You are already rich. You have reigned as kings without us; and indeed I wish you truly did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Now therefore, it is already an utter failure with you that you go to court against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather be defrauded?

No, you yourselves do wrong and defraud, and these things to brethren.

But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor the churches of God.

For first of all, I hear that when you come together as a church there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.

Or did the Word of God go forth from you? Or did it come only to you?

If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.

But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed by one another.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, sexual perversion, uncleanness, licentiousness,

envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all wickedness.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

But if you have bitter envy and contention in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

For where envy and contention exist, there is confusion and every evil deed.

Where do wars and fightings come from among you? Do they not come from your lusts that war in your members?

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your lusts.

Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, The Spirit who dwells in us yearns to envy?

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

All those who hate me whisper against me; they plot evil against me.

A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates intimate friends.

being filled with every unrighteousness, sexual perversion, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, depravity; whisperers,

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through wantonness, the ones who have actually escaped from those living in error.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and their mouths speak great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
