from men by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure. They are satisfied with children, and leave an abundance to their infants.

Since there are many things that increase vanity, how is man any better?

Look on life with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life, which He has given you under the sun, all the days of your vanity. For that is your share in this life, and in your labor which you labor under the sun.

And the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with giddiness, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come upon you unexpectedly.

Do you not know that we shall judge angels? To say nothing of things that pertain to this life?

If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge.

No one serving military duty entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

And I heard a voice from Heaven saying to me, Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.
