Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to deliver Him to them.

And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. So he sought how he might conveniently betray Him.

Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the twelve, but one of you is a devil?

He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who was about to betray Him, being one of the twelve.

This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the moneybag; and he used to take what was put in it.

And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him,

And after the morsel, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, What you do, do quickly.

But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds of the land for yourself?

But behold, the hand of My betrayer is with Me on the table.

Judas of Jacob, and Judas Iscariot who also became a traitor.

Even the man of peace in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

For it is not an enemy who reproaches me, then I could bear it. It is not one who hates me who magnified himself against me, or I would hide myself from him;

We took sweet counsel together, and walked to the house of God in the throng.

He answered and said, He who dips his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.

Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, Truly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me.

And He answered and said to them, It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish.

I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.

Jesus answered, It is he to whom I shall give a morsel when I have dipped it. And having dipped the morsel, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
