Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

So the multitudes asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

Then tax collectors also came to be immersed, and said to him, Teacher, what shall we do?

But rather give alms from what is within; and behold, all things are clean to you.

Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in Heaven that does not fail, where a thief does not come near nor moth destroys.

And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when it fails, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, You still lack one thing. Sell everything that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.

But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

Now all the believers were together, and had all things in common,

So continuing day by day with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

Nor was there anyone needy among them; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,

and placed them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

But as you abound in everything (in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us), see that you abound in this grace also.

I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love through the diligence of others.

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be high-minded, nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,

but the rich in his humiliation, because as the flower of the field he will pass away.

For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. Thus the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits.

Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, And what shall we do? So he said to them, Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.

You shall not testify a witness of falsehood against your neighbor.

If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep.

If the sun has risen upon him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He shall make compensation to pay; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying:

or if he has found what was lost and lies concerning it, and swears falsely; in any one of these things that a man may do in which he sins:

or all that about which he has sworn falsely. He shall restore the principal, add one- fifth more to it, and give it to whomever it belongs, on the day of his guilt offering.

Look at me. Witness against me before Jehovah and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.

And he shall restore fourfold for the lamb, because he has done this thing and because he had no pity.

But if he is found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the wealth of his house.
