Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither loaned with usury, nor have men loaned to me; yet every one curses me.

Jehovah said, Truly I will not free you for good. Truly I will cause the enemy to entreat you in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

O Jehovah, You know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on those who persecute me. In Your long-suffering do not take me away; know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

Your Words were found, and I ate them; and Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O Jehovah the God of Hosts.

I did not sit in the council of the mockers, nor rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand; for You have filled me with indignation.
18
Why has my pain been continual, and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You surely are to me like deceitful waters that cannot be trusted.
19
Therefore thus says Jehovah, If you turn back, then I will bring you back again; you shall stand before Me. And if you take the precious out from the vile, you shall be as My mouth. Let them turn back to you, but do not return to them.
20
And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you, says Jehovah.
21
And I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the grip of the terrible.
Jeremiah 20:7-18

O Jehovah, You have deceived me, and I was deceived. You are stronger than I, and You have prevailed. I am in derision all the day; everyone mocks me.
8
For whenever I speak, I cry out, I cry violence and devastation; for the Word of Jehovah has been a reproach and a derision to me all the day.
9
Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak in His name any more. But His Word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with holding it in, and I could not.
10
For I have heard the whisperings of many, terror is all around. Proclaim, they say, and we will report it. Everyone at peace with me is watching for me to stumble and fall, saying, Perhaps he will be lured away, and we shall prevail against him, and shall take our revenge on him.

But Jehovah is with me like a mighty, awesome one. Therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail. They shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not succeed. Their everlasting reproach shall never be forgotten.
12
But, O Jehovah of Hosts, who tries the righteous and sees the soul and the heart, let me see Your vengeance on them. For I have made my cause known to You.

Sing to Jehovah! Praise Jehovah! For He has delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
14
Cursed be the day in which I was born; let not the day in which my mother bore me be blessed.
15
Cursed be the man who brought news to my father, saying, A male child has been born to you; making him very glad.

And let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew without compassion; and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noon;

because he did not kill me from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb always pregnant.

Why did I come forth from the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

Where would I get flesh to set before all these people? For they weep upon me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

I am not able to bear all these people alone, because they are too heavy for me.

If You are dealing with me like this, please kill and destroy me, if I have found favor in Your eyes; and do not let me see my distress!
Joshua 7:7-9
