And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and if one looks to the land, behold darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by clouds.

Nevertheless the gloom shall not be upon her who was in distress, as in the former time when He brought contempt upon the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali. For afterwards He will glorify the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

And in those times there was no peace to the one going out, nor to the one coming in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands.

And nation has been destroyed by nation, and city by city; for God has vexed them with every distress.

Give glory to Jehovah your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.

Ask now, and see whether a man ever gives birth? Why do I see every man with his hands on his loins, like a woman in labor, and all faces are turned pale?

Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Woe to those who desire the day of Jehovah! Of what good is this to you? The day of Jehovah is darkness, and not light.

Is not the day of Jehovah darkness, and not light; even very dark, and not any brightness in it?

The great day of Jehovah is near; it is near and hastens greatly, the sound of the day of Jehovah. The mighty man shall cry out bitterly there.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of desolation and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And immediately after the affliction of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;

men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

He is driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

The wicked is cast down in his wickedness, but the righteous has refuge in his death.

So their way shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in them; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their punishment, says Jehovah.

And the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
