Wisdom cries aloud outside; she utters her voice in the square;

She stands at the top of high places, by the wayside, where the paths meet,

beside the gates; at the opening to the city, at the doors of entry, she cries aloud:

Blessed is the man who gives heed to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.

Then the master said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.

O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the nighttime, and am not silent.

Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and Your billows have gone over me.

I will say to God my Rock, Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

For You are the God of my strength; why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning under the oppression of the enemy?

Then I will go to the altar of God, the Mighty God, my exceeding joy; yea, on the harp I will give thanks to You, O God, my God.

Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be pleased no more?

Has the Mighty God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah
