My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day, Where is your God?

For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

My soul refuses to touch them; they are as sickening food.

And though Jehovah gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers shall not be removed into a corner any more, but your eyes shall see your teachers.

Moreover He said to me, Son of man, behold, I will cut off the food supply in Jerusalem; and they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and in horror,

that they may lack bread and water, and be appalled with one another, and waste away because of their iniquity.
