As with a shattering of my bones, my enemies have reproached me, while they say daily to me, Where is your God?

Our soul has more than enough of the derision of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud who oppress us.

Still others had trial of mockings and floggings, yes, and of bonds and imprisonment.

O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember You from the land of Jordan, from the summits of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.

And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, are you sleeping? Were you not strong enough to watch one hour?

And they all forsook Him and fled.

Look on my right hand and see, for there is no one who acknowledges me; refuge has vanished from me; no one cares for my soul.

Behold, the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you are scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

At my first defense no one stood with me, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned against them.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the preaching of the message might be fulfilled through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all!

Have pity on me! Have pity on me, O you my friends! For the hand of God has struck me!

Why do you persecute me as the Mighty God does, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.
