Jehovah will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, my prayer to the Mighty God of my life.

You have held my eyelids open; I am so disturbed that I cannot speak.

I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search.

I have remembered Your name in the night, O Jehovah, and I keep Your Law.

I have risen before the dawn and cried out for help; I have hoped in Your Word.

My eyes have met the night watches, that I may meditate on Your Word.

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O Mighty God! How great is the sum of them!

If I should count them, they are more numerous than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.

Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them shout aloud upon their beds.

Shulamite: By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but I did not find him.

I will rise now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the broad places I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.

Shulamite: I sleep, but my heart is awake; it is the sound of my beloved! He knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one; for my head is covered with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.

Arise, cry out in the night. At the beginning of the watches, pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands toward Him for the life of your children who faint from hunger at the head of every street.
