Even the man of peace in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Let them be ashamed and abashed together, those who rejoice over my adversity. Let them be clothed with shame and reproach who magnify themselves against me.

For I said, Hear me, lest they rejoice over me; lest, when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me.

Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Shall the saw magnify itself against him who moves it? As if the rod could swing itself at those who lift it up! As if a staff could rise up, as though it were not wood!

And as they were eating, He said, Truly, I say to you, One of you will betray Me.

He answered and said, He who dips his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.

I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.

And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often came together there with His disciples.

Then Judas, having received a company of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
