And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do, and shattered you in pieces from Seir to Hormah.

As the fire burns the forest, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire,

so pursue them with Your tempest, and terrify them with Your storm.

For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool; this also is vanity.

Fury is not in Me; who would set the briers and thorns against Me in battle? I would march through them; I would burn them together.

For as thorns are woven together, and as their drunkards are drunken, they shall be devoured like fully dried straw.

O Jehovah, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!

We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up banners; may Jehovah fulfill all your petitions.

Then David said to the Philistine, You are coming to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I am coming to you in the name of Jehovah of Hosts, the God of the ranks of Israel, whom you have reproached.

But the sons of worthlessness shall all be as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with the hand.

And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Have You delivered them into my hand? And Jehovah said to him, Go up, for I have delivered them into your hand.

So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. And David said, God has broken through to my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

And David again inquired of God, and God said to him, You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the balsam trees.

So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer.

And Asa cried out unto Jehovah his God, and said, Jehovah, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no strength; help us, O Jehovah our God, for we have trusted on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Jehovah, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You.

So Jehovah struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: Because you have leaned on the king of Syria, and have not trusted on Jehovah your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand.

For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are perfect toward Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on there will be wars for you.

You shall not fight in this battle. Station yourselves, stand your ground and see the salvation of Jehovah for you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out before them, for Jehovah is with you.

And the Levites of the sons of the Kohathites and of the sons of the Korahites stood up to praise Jehovah the God of Israel with loud voices on high.

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing unto Jehovah, and who should praise the glory of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: Give thanks unto Jehovah, for His mercy is eternal.

Now Ahaziah's destruction, when he went to Joram, was from God; for when he came, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom Jehovah had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

And it happened, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers who served Ahaziah, that he killed them.
