Then the fire of Jehovah fell and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

And it came to pass, when the sun had gone down and it was dark, that behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a burning torch that passed between those pieces.

And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. And he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.

And you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of the heavens, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness.

And Jehovah spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; you only heard a voice.

Has any people ever heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and lived?

And Elijah answered and said to the commander of fifty, If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from the heavens and consume you and your fifty. And fire came down from the heavens and consumed him and his fifty.

And it happened as they continued on and talked, that behold, a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into Heaven.

For our God is a consuming fire.

And Jehovah passed before him and proclaimed: Jehovah, Jehovah Mighty God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in goodness and truth,

It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes in silence; then I heard a voice saying:

Surely no fear of me will terrify you, nor shall my burden be heavy upon you.

Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, This is the Word of Jehovah to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says Jehovah of Hosts.

And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven, as being borne along by a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Therefore let all the house of Israel understand with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
