These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.

And these are the names of his sons whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

And these were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon; four by Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel.

And Jehovah sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him: There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor.

But the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him.

And David's anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, As Jehovah lives, the man who has done this is a son of death!

And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her and lay with her. And she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. Now Jehovah loved him,

and He sent word by the hand of Nathan the prophet: So he called his name Jedidiah, because of Jehovah.

and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.
