Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.

the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites,

Numbers 34:2-15

Command the children of Israel, and say to them: When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance; the land of Canaan to its borders.

Your southern border shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom; and your southern border shall be eastward to the end of the Salt Sea;

your border shall turn from the southern side of the ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and be on the south of Kadesh Barnea; and it shall go on to Hazar Addar, and continue to Azmon;

the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.

As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your western border.

And this shall be your northern border: From the Great Sea you shall mark out to Mount Hor;

from Mount Hor you shall mark out to the entrance of Hamath; and the extremity of the border shall be toward Zedad;

the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and it shall end at Hazar Enan. This shall be your northern border.

You shall mark out your eastern border from Hazar Enan to Shepham;

the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; the border shall go down and reach to the eastern side of the Sea of Chinnereth;

the border shall go down along the Jordan, and it shall end at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with its surrounding borders.

And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which Jehovah has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.
14
For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and the half-tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance.
15
The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance on the other side of the Jordan, across from Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.

When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.

These are what the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel divided up as possessions.

Their inheritance was by lot, as Jehovah had commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe.

For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe on the other side of the Jordan; but to the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.
4
For the sons of Joseph were two tribes: Manasseh and Ephraim. And they gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their common lands for their livestock and their property.

As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did; and they divided the land.

Then the sons of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: You know the word which Jehovah had spoken to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea.

I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Jehovah sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart.

Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed Jehovah my God.

And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and of your sons perpetually, because you have fully followed Jehovah my God.

And now, behold, Jehovah has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since Jehovah spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old.
11
As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both to go out and to come in.
12
Now therefore, give me this mountain of which Jehovah spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that Jehovah will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as Jehovah has spoken.
13
And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.
14
Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he fully followed Jehovah the God of Israel.
15
And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was a great man among the Anakim). And the land had rest from war.
