Into Your hands I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

For You have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from sliding, that I should be well-pleasing before God in the land of the living.

You have guided me by Your counsel, and You have taken me to Yourself with glory.

I will deliver [them] out of the power of Hades, and will redeem them from death. O death, where is your punishment? O Hades, where is your sting? Comfort is hidden from My eyes.

And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; because You were slain, and You redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and language and people and nation;

And I heard a voice out of heaven saying, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now [on],' "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow with them."

because You will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

For Your mercy is great toward me; and You have delivered my soul from the depths of hell.

What man is there who shall live, and not see death? Shall [anyone] deliver his soul from the hand of Hades? Pause.

And Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, "Father, 'into Your hands I will commit My spirit.' " And after He said these things, He expired.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and I will receive you unto Myself; so that where I am, there you may be also.

And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
