And the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait so that they could not draw near, and the people hid themselves in caves, sheepfolds, rocks, ditches, and pits.

And the servant of Elisha rose up early and went out; and behold, an army compassed the city, and horses and chariots. And the servant said to him, O master, what shall we do?

"Now My soul has been troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this reason I came to this hour.

For I am hard pressed by the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better.

And the Lord passed by before his face, and proclaimed, The Lord God, gracious and merciful, longsuffering and very compassionate, and true,

and keeping justice and mercy for thousands, taking away iniquity and unrighteousness and sins; and He will not clear the guilty; bringing the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and to the children's children, to the third and fourth generation.

And David said to Gad, They are very hard for me, even [all] the three: let me fall now into the hands of the Lord, for His mercies [are] very abundant, and let me not fall by any means into the hands of man.

For the end, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, when he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the multitude of Your compassions, blot out my transgression.

For You, O Lord, are kind and gentle, and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon You.

But You, O Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and true.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, longsuffering, and full of mercy.

He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor recompensed us according to our iniquities.

As far as the east is from the west, [so far] has He removed our transgressions from us.

For He knows our frame; [He] remembers that we are dust.

Your mercies, O Lord, are many; revive me according to Your judgment.

The Lord is good to those that wait [on Him]; and His compassions are over all His works.

let the ungodly leave his ways, and the transgressor his counsels; and let him return to the Lord, and he shall find mercy; for He shall abundantly pardon your sins.

And he prayed to the Lord, and said, O Lord, were not these my words when I was yet in my land? Therefore I made haste to flee to Tarshish; because I knew that You are merciful and compassionate, long suffering, and abundant in kindness, and relent of [bringing about] evil.

Who is a God like You, canceling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? And He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in mercy.

And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of the son of Hadad son of Hazael, all their days.

And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the chief of his house, and Elkanah the king's deputy.

And there was a prophet of the Lord there whose name [was] Oded. And he went out to meet the army that was coming to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, the wrath of the Lord God of your fathers [is] upon Judah, and He has delivered them into your hands, but you have killed them in wrath, and it has reached even to heaven.

And He delivered them into the hands of [their] enemies; and they that hated them ruled over them.

Ands their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands.

A righteous man has pity for the lives of his cattle, but the bowels of the ungodly are unmerciful.

I have been provoked with My people; you have defiled My inheritance; I gave them into your hand, but you did not extend mercy to them; you made the yoke of the aged man very heavy,

And I am very angry with the heathen that combine to attack [her]: for as I indeed was a little angry, but they combined to attack [her] for evil.
