Food was served to them from Joseph's table, and Benjamin was served five times as much as the rest of them. So they ate and drank with Joseph until they were drunk.

So the two men sat down and ate and drank together. Then the woman's father told him, "Please spend the night and enjoy yourself."

When the man, his concubine, and the servant once more started to leave, the father said, "Look, it's almost evening now; you might as well stay all night. It will be dark soon; stay here and have a good time. Tomorrow you can get up early for the trip and go home."

They were enjoying themselves when all of a sudden some sexual perverts from the town surrounded the house and started beating on the door. They said to the old man, "Bring out that man that came home with you! We want to have sex with him!"

and instructed his servants: "Notice when Amnon has had too much to drink, and then when I give the order, kill him. Don't be afraid. I will take the responsibility myself. Be brave and don't hesitate!"

On the seventh day of his banquet the king was drinking and feeling happy, so he called in the seven eunuchs who were his personal servants, Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar, and Carkas.

and produce wine to make us happy, olive oil to make us cheerful, and bread to give us strength.

The best thing we can do is eat and drink and enjoy what we have earned. And yet, I realized that even this comes from God.

So I realized that all we can do is be happy and do the best we can while we are still alive.

All of us should eat and drink and enjoy what we have worked for. It is God's gift.

So I am convinced that we should enjoy ourselves, because the only pleasure we have in this life is eating and drinking and enjoying ourselves. We can at least do this as we labor during the life that God has given us in this world.

Go ahead---eat your food and be happy; drink your wine and be cheerful. It's all right with God.

Feasting makes you happy and wine cheers you up, but you can't have either without money.

Well, whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for God's glory.

Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit.
