Genesis 31:48
Laban said to Jacob, "This pile of rocks will be a reminder for both of us." That is why that place was named Galeed.
Genesis 31:49
Laban also said, "May the LORD keep an eye on us while we are separated from each other." So the place was also named Mizpah.
Judges 20:1
All the people of Israel from Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, as well as from the land of Gilead in the east, answered the call. They gathered in one body in the LORD's presence at Mizpah.
