Joshua 13:8
The tribes of Reuben and Gad and the other half of the tribe of Manasseh had already received the land that Moses, the LORD's servant, had given them; it was on the east side of the Jordan River.
Numbers 32:29-42

"If the men of Gad and Reuben cross the Jordan ready for battle at the LORD's command and if with their help you are able to conquer the land, then give them the land of Gilead as their property.
30
But if they do not cross the Jordan and go into battle with you, they are to receive their share of the property in the land of Canaan, as you do."

The men of Gad and Reuben answered, "Sir, we will do as the LORD has commanded.

Under his command we will cross into the land of Canaan and go into battle, so that we can retain our property here east of the Jordan."

So Moses assigned to the tribes of Gad and Reuben and to half the tribe of Manasseh all the territory of King Sihon of the Amorites and King Og of Bashan, including the towns and the country around them.

The tribe of Gad rebuilt the fortified towns of Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,

Atroth Shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,

Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran.

The tribe of Reuben rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,

Nebo, Baal Meon (this name was changed), and Sibmah. They gave new names to the towns they rebuilt.

The clan of Machir son of Manasseh invaded the land of Gilead, occupied it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.

So Moses gave Gilead to the clan of Machir, and they lived there.

Jair, of the tribe of Manasseh, attacked and captured some villages and named them "Villages of Jair."

Nobah attacked and captured Kenath and its villages, and he renamed it Nobah, after himself.

"When we took possession of the land, I assigned to the tribes of Reuben and Gad the territory north of the town of Aroer near the Arnon River and part of the hill country of Gilead, along with its towns.

To half the tribe of Manasseh I assigned the rest of Gilead and also all of Bashan, where Og had ruled, that is, the entire Argob region." (Bashan was known as the land of the Rephaim.

Jair, from the tribe of Manasseh, took the entire region of Argob, that is, Bashan, as far as the border of Geshur and Maacah. He named the villages after himself, and they are still known as the villages of Jair.)

And to the tribes of Reuben and Gad I assigned the territory from Gilead to the Arnon River. The middle of the river was their southern boundary, and their northern boundary was the Jabbok River, part of which formed the Ammonite border.

On the west their territory extended to the Jordan River, from Lake Galilee in the north down to the Dead Sea in the south and to the foot of Mount Pisgah on the east.

Moses had given no land to the tribe of Levi. As the LORD had told Moses, they were to receive as their possession a share of the sacrifices burned on the altar to the LORD God of Israel.

This is how Moses divided the land east of Jericho and the Jordan when he was in the plains of Moab.

But Moses did not assign any land to the tribe of Levi. He told them that their possession was to be a share of the offerings to the LORD God of Israel.
